This last week has certainly been an adventure! After celebrating a friend's wedding on Saturday, I headed to DC to pick up my sister from the airport and explore the city. The day started off with a hearty but healthy-ish breakfast from a farm to table restaurant in Virginia Beach. It's the prettiest plate of biscuits and gravy I've ever seen! Brunch is the best!
Then, it was off to pick up Janet from the airport. I braved that Interstate traffic with determination despite much hesitation and finally made it. Over the next couple of days of our visit, we ate delicious food, went to the Newseum and we even to the National Portrait Gallery where we saw some amazing art, including the Obama's portraits!
We also went to the Cherry Blossom Festival which is always a lovely sight! Such beautiful flowers everywhere!
